6. Opstelinstruksies

Before beginning any welding operation, ensure the machine is placed on a stable, level surface in a well-ventilated area, away from flammable materials.

6.1. Kragverbinding

  • Ensure the welding machine's power switch is in the "OFF" position.
  • Connect the power cord to a suitable 220V AC power outlet. Ensure the outlet is properly grounded and can handle the machine's power requirements.

6.2. Welding Cable Connections

The TIG-200 supports both TIG and MMA welding. Connect the cables according to the desired welding process.

Figure 6.1: TIG and MMA/Stick Welding Setup

6.2.1. For MMA (Stick) Welding

  • Connect the electrode holder cable to the "Electrode holder interface" on the front panel.
  • Verbind die grond clamp cable to the "Ground clamp interface" on the front panel.
  • Heg die grond clamp securely to the workpiece, ensuring good electrical contact.
  • Insert the appropriate welding electrode into the electrode holder.

6.2.2. For TIG Welding

  • Connect the TIG welding gun cable to the "TIG welding gun interface" on the front panel.
  • Verbind die grond clamp cable to the "Ground clamp interface" on the front panel.
  • Heg die grond clamp stewig aan die werkstuk vas.
  • Connect your shielding gas cylinder (e.g., Argon) to the "GAS" inlet on the back panel of the machine using a gas hose and regulator. Ensure all gas connections are tight to prevent leaks.
  • Install the correct size tungsten electrode into the TIG torch and secure it with the chuck and long hat. Attach the ceramic nozzle (ceramic set) to the torch head.

7. Bedryfsinstruksies

Once the machine is set up, you can begin welding. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including a welding helmet, gloves, and protective clothing.

7.1. Aanskakeling en moduskeuse

  • Turn the main power switch on the back panel to the "ON" position.
  • The digital panel on the front will illuminate.
  • Use the TIG/MMA mode selection buttons to choose your desired welding process.

7.2. Adjusting Welding Parameters

  • Sweisstroom: Use the "Current Adjustment Knob" to set the desired amperage. Refer to welding charts or practice on scrap material to find the optimal current for your specific material thickness and electrode/tungsten size.
  • TIG Post-Flow (for TIG welding): Adjust the "Post Hooua Knob" to set the gas post-flow time. This protects the hot weld puddle and tungsten electrode from atmospheric contamination after the arc is extinguished. A general rule is 1 second of post-flow per 10 amps van sweisstroom.

Figure 7.1: Achieving Smooth & Clean Welds

The TIG-200 features Smooth Arc, Hot Start, Anti Stick, and Arc Force for improved welding performance.

7.3.1. MMA (Stick) Welding

  • Strike the arc by lightly touching the electrode to the workpiece and quickly lifting it slightly to establish the arc.
  • Maintain a consistent arc length and travel speed to create a uniform weld bead.
  • The "Anti Stick" feature helps prevent the electrode from sticking to the workpiece, while "Hot Start" assists in easier arc ignition. "Arc Force" helps maintain a stable arc.

7.3.2. TIG Welding

  • Ensure gas flow is established.
  • Initiate the arc (typically by high-frequency start, which is implied by "High frequency spot welding" feature).
  • Maintain a short arc length between the tungsten and the workpiece.
  • Feed filler rod into the weld puddle as needed.
  • The "Two-way gas saving" feature helps optimize gas consumption.

The TIG-200 is suitable for welding various materials including stainless steel, alloy steel, and non-ferrous metals, with welding thickness ranging from 0.5mm to 8mm, using tungsten electrodes from 1.6mm to 3.2mm.

8. Onderhoud

Gereelde onderhoud verseker die lang lewensduur en optimale werkverrigting van u sweismasjien.

  • Skoonmaak: Periodically clean the machine's exterior with a dry cloth. Use compressed air to blow out dust and debris from the air inlets and cooling fan on the back panel. Ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning.
  • Kabel inspeksie: Regularly inspect all welding cables, electrode holder, ground clamp, and TIG torch for signs of wear, cuts, or damage. Replace damaged components immediately.
  • Verbindings: Ensure all electrical and gas connections are tight and secure.
  • Tungsten Electrodes (TIG): Keep tungsten electrodes clean and properly sharpened for optimal arc stability and weld quality.
  • Berging: Store the welding machine in a dry, clean environment when not in use.

9. Probleemoplossing

This section addresses common issues you might encounter during operation. For problems not listed here, contact customer support.

ProbleemMoontlike oorsaakOplossing
Geen krag na masjien niePower switch off, power cord unplugged, circuit breaker tripped.Turn power switch on, check power cord connection, reset circuit breaker.
No arc / Weak arcPoor ground connection, incorrect current setting, damaged cables, incorrect electrode/tungsten.Verseker grondreinheidamp is clean and secure, adjust current, inspect and replace damaged cables, use correct electrode/tungsten.
Machine overheats / Shuts downExceeded duty cycle, blocked air inlets/cooling fan, high ambient temperature.Allow machine to cool down, clear obstructions from air inlets/fan, operate in a cooler environment.
Poor weld quality (TIG)Insufficient gas flow, contaminated tungsten, incorrect post-flow, dirty workpiece.Check gas supply and flow rate, clean/sharpen tungsten, adjust post-flow, clean workpiece thoroughly.
Electrode sticks (MMA)Low current, improper arc length, "Anti Stick" feature not functioning.Increase current, practice maintaining arc length, ensure machine is functioning correctly.

10. Gebruikerswenke

  • Practice on Scrap: Before working on important projects, always practice on scrap pieces of the same material and thickness to dial in your settings and technique.
  • Netheid is die sleutel: For TIG welding especially, ensure your workpiece is meticulously clean. Any contaminants can lead to poor weld quality.
  • Gas Management: For TIG welding, always ensure you have sufficient shielding gas. Running out of gas mid-weld can contaminate your tungsten and weld puddle.
  • Electrode Selection: Use the correct type and size of electrode (for MMA) or tungsten (for TIG) for the material and thickness you are welding.
  • Ventilasie: Always ensure adequate ventilation to disperse welding fumes, even for short tasks.
