3. Opstelling

3.1 Aan-/afskakel

  1. Open the back bracket of the device.
  2. Press and hold the red power on/off button for 3 seconds to turn the device on or off.

4.1 OTDR Function

  1. From the main menu, click on the 'OTDR' icon to enter the OTDR module.
  2. On the OTDR SET screen, select the desired wavelength (e.g., 1310 nm).
  3. Choose the measurement mode, typically 'Average' for stable results.
  4. Ensure 'Time', 'Range', and 'Pulse Width' are set to 'Auto' for automatic configuration.
  5. Click 'Measure' to start the one-click testing process.
  6. The device will display the OTDR curve and an event list, providing clear and accurate test results. The 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen supports zoom in/out and cursor movement for detailed analysis.

4.2 Smart Map Graphical Links

The Smart Map feature provides a graphical representation of the OTDR test results, intuitively displaying optical fiber loss, breakpoints, and fault locations. This greatly improves detection efficiency and simplifies maintenance.

4.3 Multi-Function Modules (OPM, VFL, OLS, RJ45)

The QX43 integrates several modules for comprehensive testing:

  • Optiese kragmeter (OPM): Measures absolute optical power or relative loss of optical fiber.

  • Stable Light Source (SLS): Outputs stable continuous light to the optical system for loss measurement.

5. Onderhoud

5.1 Cleaning Optical Interfaces

Regularly clean the optical fiber interfaces using the provided sterile cotton swabs to ensure accurate measurements and prevent damage. Improper cleaning can lead to inaccurate readings and potential damage to the device or fiber.

  • Inaccurate OTDR readings? Ensure the optical fiber connectors are clean. Use sterile cotton swabs to clean the interfaces. Verify that the correct fiber type and parameters (e.g., refractive index) are selected if not using auto mode.
  • Device not turning on? Check the battery level. If the battery is low, connect the device to a power source using the Type-C charger. Ensure the power button is pressed and held for 3 seconds.
