4.1 Connecting the Device to Your Vehicle

The MUCAR CS90 connects to your vehicle via the OBDII port, also known as the Data Link Connector (DLC). This is a standard 16-pin port where diagnostic tools interface with the vehicle's onboard computer.

5.1 Diagnoseer

This is the primary diagnostic function. You can access it in two ways:

  • Automatic VIN Scan: The device automatically scans the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to identify the vehicle's make, model, and year, then loads the appropriate diagnostic software.
  • Regional Model Filtering: Manually select car models by region to access specific diagnostic software for fault diagnosis.

5.2 OBD Functions

The OBD function supports all 10 modes of OBD II and EOBD protocols for vehicles manufactured from 1996 onwards. These functions help in comprehensive engine system diagnostics:

  • Mode 1: Read Live Data Stream: Displays continuous data stream information from the ECU/PCM in real-time, often with graphical (waveform) representation.
  • Mode 2: Read Freeze Frame Data: Stores a snapshot of operating conditions at the moment a fault code was set.
  • Mode 3: Read DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes): Shows detailed descriptions of current Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
  • Mode 4: Clear DTCs: Clears fault codes from the vehicle's computer and turns off the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL).

5.3 Maintenance Services (28 Reset Functions)

The Maintenance menu provides access to 28 commonly used maintenance and reset functions to assist with regular vehicle upkeep. These services are crucial for maintaining vehicle performance and safety:
