Connect the reader to your PC via a micro-USB cable, open the configuration software (such as Product Manager WS4 or PROS CS), select 'ISO 14443-A (Mifare, NTAG)', set the ID type to 'Xsecure', and click update to save the settings.
If the reader loses communication with the controller, a red LED will blink fast. Ensure that the RS-485 or Wiegand cabling is securely connected and that you are within the maximum permitted cable lengths (e.g., 80m for WS4, 150m for Wiegand).
To reset, turn Dipswitch pin 1 ON and wait for multiple short beeps and a blinking red LED. Turn the dipswitch OFF, and wait for the green LED to blink along with a beep. Be aware that resetting deletes all configurations, events, and blacklisted cards.
Connect the PROX-USB-X desktop reader to your PC and configure it using the PROX-USB-X Configurator software. In your user management software, click the card field, place the user's Mifare or Xsecure card on the desktop reader, and the card's ID will be populated automatically.
