3. Produk verbyview
3.1 Voorpaneelkontroles
The front panel of the SA230 features controls for adjusting the subwoofer's output and a power indicator.

- Kragknoppie: Druk om die amplewendiger aan of af.
- KRAG-LED: Verlig wanneer die ampverligter is aangeskakel.
- PHASE Control: Adjusts the phase of the subwoofer output from 0° to 180°. This helps to blend the subwoofer's output with the main speakers.
- FREQ (Crossover Frequency) Control: Adjusts the low-pass filter frequency from 40 Hz to 120 Hz. This determines the upper frequency limit of the subwoofer's output.
- Neem beheer: Adjusts the overall output level of the subwoofer amplewendiger.
3.2 Agterpaneelverbindings en kontroles
The rear panel provides various input and output connections, along with additional controls for integration into your audio system.

- HI LEVEL IN/OUT: Speaker-level inputs and outputs for connecting to a receiver or amplifier that does not have dedicated subwoofer outputs.
- LYN IN/UIT: RCA line-level inputs and outputs for standard audio connections.
- LFE-INVOER: Dedicated RCA input for Low-Frequency Effects (LFE) signals from an A/V receiver.
- BASS BOOST Switches: Provides selectable bass boost at 25 Hz or 40 Hz, with 0 dB, 6 dB, or 12 dB gain options.
- REMOTE TURN ON Switch: Kies die amplifier's power-on mode: Manual, Auto, or 12V Trigger.
- 12V TRIGGER IN/OUT: Connects to a 12V trigger source for automated power control.
- SUBWOOFER UITSET: Speaker terminals for connecting to a passive subwoofer. Minimum impedance is 4 ohms.
- AC VOLTAGE SELECTOR: Switch to select between 120V and 240V AC input voltage.
- KRAG INLAAT: Connects the detachable AC power cord.
4. Opstelling
4.1 Plasing
Plaas die SA230 amplifier in a location that allows for adequate ventilation. Avoid enclosed spaces that could restrict airflow. Ensure the amplifier is on a stable, level surface.
4.2 Verbindings
Voordat u enige verbindings maak, maak seker dat die amplifier is unplugged from the power outlet.
- Subwoofer verbinding: Connect your passive subwoofer to the SUBWOOFER OUTPUT terminals on the rear panel. Observe correct polarity (+ to + and - to -). The amplifier supports a minimum impedance of 4 ohms.
- Input Signal Connection (Choose ONE method):
- LFE-invoer: If your A/V receiver has a dedicated LFE output, connect it to the LFE INPUT on the SA230 using a single RCA cable.
- LYN IN: For receivers or preamplifiers with stereo RCA outputs, connect them to the LINE IN (Left and Right) inputs on the SA230.
- HI LEVEL IN: If your source component only has speaker-level outputs, connect them to the HI LEVEL IN terminals. You can then use the HI LEVEL OUT terminals to pass the signal to your main speakers.
- 12V Trigger Connection (Optional): If your system supports 12V trigger control, connect a 12V trigger cable from your source component to the 12V TRIGGER IN terminal. Set the REMOTE TURN ON switch to 'TRIGGER'.
4.3 AC Voltage Selection and Power Connection
The SA230 features an AC voltage keurder. Ensure this switch is set to the correct voltage for your region (120V or 240V) before connecting the power cord. Verkeerde voltage selection can damage the amplewendiger.
Nadat alle klankverbindings gemaak is en die volumetage is correctly selected, connect the supplied AC power cord to the POWER INLET on the rear panel and then to a suitable wall outlet.
5. Operasie
5.1 Power On/Off Modes
The SA230 offers three modes for power control, selected via the REMOTE TURN ON switch on the rear panel:
- HANDLEIDING: Die amplifier is turned on and off using the front panel POWER button.
- VOERTUIG: Die amplifier will automatically turn on when an audio signal is detected and enter standby mode after approximately 15 minutes of no signal.
- Sneller: Die amplifier will turn on and off in response to a 12V trigger signal connected to the 12V TRIGGER IN.
5.2 Aanpassing van kontroles
Adjust the front panel controls to achieve optimal sound integration with your main speakers:
- WINS: Start with the GAIN control at its minimum setting. Play audio and slowly increase the GAIN until the subwoofer's output blends seamlessly with your main speakers without overpowering them.
- FREQ (Crossover Frequency): Adjust the FREQ control to set the upper limit of the subwoofer's frequency response. A common starting point is to set it slightly above the lowest frequency your main speakers can reproduce. Experiment to find the best blend.
- FASE: Adjust the PHASE control (0° to 180°) to ensure the subwoofer's sound waves are in phase with your main speakers at the listening position. This can improve bass impact and clarity. Listen for the strongest and most coherent bass response.
- BAS HUPSTOOT: Use the BASS BOOST switches on the rear panel to apply a boost at 25 Hz or 40 Hz if additional low-frequency emphasis is desired. Experiment with the 6 dB or 12 dB settings to suit your preference and room acoustics.
6. Onderhoud
To ensure long-term performance, keep the amplifier clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
6.1 Sekeringvervanging
As die amplifier does not power on, check the fuse. The fuse holder is located within the AC power inlet module on the rear panel. Always replace the fuse with one of the same type and rating.

- Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet and the amplewendiger.
- Locate the fuse holder within the AC power inlet. It may require a small flat-head screwdriver to gently pry open or slide out.
- Remove the old fuse and insert a new fuse of the correct rating (4A/250V for 120V operation, 2A/250V for 240V operation).
- Securely reinsert the fuse holder.
- Koppel die kragkabel weer aan.
7. Probleemoplossing
| Probleem | Moontlike oorsaak | Oplossing |
|---|---|---|
| No power, Power LED off | Power cord disconnected; Blown fuse; Incorrect AC voltage seleksie. | Check power cord connection; Replace fuse (see Section 6.1); Verify AC voltage selector setting. |
| Geen klank van die subwoofer nie | Incorrect input connection; GAIN control too low; Subwoofer wiring incorrect; Source component issue. | Verify input cables are connected correctly; Increase GAIN; Check subwoofer wiring polarity; Ensure source component is sending a signal. |
| Verwronge klank | GAIN set too high; Subwoofer overloaded; Incorrect crossover setting. | Reduce GAIN; Ensure subwoofer is rated for amplifier power; Adjust FREQ control. |
| Auto-on not working | REMOTE TURN ON switch not set to AUTO; Input signal too low. | Set REMOTE TURN ON to AUTO; Increase input signal level from source component. |
